Apparently some hotels have gotten too easy to reach, and it’s time to level up. Skylodge Adventure Suites offers rooms suspended over Peru’s Sacred Valley that require a via ferrata or zipline to reach. This is the perfect combined activity and lodging for our most adventurous readers. Here’s everything worth knowing before staying here.

What is Skylodge Adventure Suites?

Skylodge is located in Peru’s Sacred Valley, near the town of Pachar, about an hour from Cusco. Skylodge has three capsule suites, hanging against the mountainside roughly 1,200 feet above the valley floor. Each capsule has enough room for four beds, a small dining area, and also a private bathroom. Inside, you’ll have the sickest views of the Sacred Valley.
How to Get to Skylodge Adventure Suites Peru

To reach your capsule for the night, guests choose between two routes. The first option is a via ferrata climb. This involves moving along a fixed rope while walking along the edge of the cliff. This route takes a few hours to reach your capsule. Alternatively, you can choose the second option: a hike paired with a zipline for those who’d rather skip the vertical ascent. Either way, safety gear and trained guides are part of the package, and the ascent is generally framed as accessible to reasonably fit travelers rather than experienced climbers only. We also really appreciate that there are two options to choose from depending on your comfort with climbing. The next morning you’ll leave by zipline, which is our new favorite way of checking out of a hotel.
Pro Tip: If you’ve just gotten to this part of Peru, we recommend resting for a day or so before staying at Skylodge Adventure Suites. The altitude is no joke near Cusco, and the rest keeps altitude sickness at bay.

Inside the Capsule

Inside the Skylodge capsules, the space is surprisingly cozy and minimalist, with transparent walls and ceilings offering almost 360-degree views of the Sacred Valley. Each capsule has beds, cushions, blankets, and a small dining area, creating a comfortable perch high above the valley while still feeling completely immersed in the surrounding mountains. Stays typically include a multi-course dinner served inside the dining capsule. It’s the best way to unwind after an active day getting to the room. And waking up to breakfast as the sun rises over the Andes is a rare opportunity you’ll remember forever. Truly, the views from the rooms are absolutely unmatched.
Who Is Skylodge Peru For?

There’s a particular kind of traveler who hears they need to via ferrata or zip line to get into their hotel room, and thinks “sign me up!” We are those kind of travelers. This is a hotel stay for the ultimate adventurers who value the journey to the hotel just as much as the stay itself. This is also a great stay for those who really value incredible views, or those who love photography. And, as a bonus, it pairs well with any itinerary near Cusco and the Sacred Valley.
Skylodge Adventure Suites is not for the faint of heart, but if you’re reading this, it’s because part of you wants to book this unbelievable stay. And we think you should listen to that part of you!
