What is Parc Omega?

parc omega quebec

Parc Omega is one of the most exciting things to do in Montebello, Quebec. Their safari park spans 2,200 acres, and they have 700 wild animals on site. Much like a typical safari, you can’t just go out and walk amongst the animals on your own! But with this one, you don’t need to be accompanied by a guide. How is that possible? Through their drive-through safari!

Parc Omega Drive-Through Safari

Parc Omega is a drive-through safari park, which reminds us a lot of our post on Lion Country Safari, a drive-through safari in Florida. Here, you can view over 20 species of animals from the comfort of your car, which is especially wonderful if you’re visiting in the wintertime. If you’re wondering whether a drive-through safari would make you feel too distant from the animals, you’ll be delighted to know that the deer will come right up to your car if you incentivize them with carrots. Even though some animals, like the deer, will be close, it’s still recommended to bring binoculars to spot some other animals farther out. It takes about an hour and a half to drive through the full park.

Pro Tip: Tune your car radio to FM 90.1 to learn more about the animals. We love that they offer this, so that you know both what to keep an eye out for and get to learn more as you go, without a traditional guide.

What Animals You’ll See

As we mentioned, there are approximately 700 animals on site. Parc Omega is probably most known for its wolves, thanks to their wolf accommodations. Here you’ll find grey wolves, arctic wolves, and black wolves. There are also a couple of different species of foxes, deer, and birds, plus bears, beavers, and even a wolverine!

Getting There

Parc Omega is located at 399, Route 323 North, Montebello, Quebec J0V 1L0. It is fairly easy to get there from the major cities of Canada, and Parc Omega directions can be found on their site from Montreal, Quebec City, and Ottawa.

Best Time to Visit Parc Omega

The park is open year-round, but we think visiting Park Omega in winter is the most magical. If you’re trying to figure out what time of day to visit, according to Parc Omega, 11 am to 2 pm are the busiest times, so visit outside of those hours for fewer crowds.

Tickets & Pricing

Parc Omega tickets usually cost about $50 per person. Seniors and children get a discounted rate, and it’s even cheaper for kids aged 2-5 years old. There’s also an “early bird promotion” where tickets are slightly discounted if you’re willing to arrive at the park a little early. We think this is a fantastic deal because it often means you get access to the park before it’s open to the general public.

As of this writing, the Parc Omega cost for guided tours is about $92 per adult, $62 for kids 6-15, and $32 for kids ages 2-5.

Planning to visit Parc Omega more than once? Their membership passes are actually a really economical option. If you plan to go to Parc Omega at least twice a year, it is actually cheaper to get the weekday annual subscription, which costs about $93 for adults, $81 for seniors, $70 for kids 6-15, and $36 for kids 2-5 years old. If you want to be able to visit on weekends, the annual subscription becomes $131 for adults, $113 for seniors, $98 for children 6-15, and $50 for children 2-5 years old.

Pro Tip: Ticket prices are usually higher on site, so it’s best to get them online in advance. You can book them here.

Sleep with the Wolves

If getting to view the animals from your car isn’t enough, what about sleeping next to them? This unique, once-in-a-lifetime Parc Omega overnight stay lets you sleep in a chalet, lodge, or cabin with glass windows that let you glimpse into the wolves’ habitat. This is such a special experience because it really allows you to observe the wolves closely and see how they interact with each other at all hours of the day and night in an ethical way. And staying at Parc Omega gives you ample opportunity to see everything without feeling rushed. You can read all about sleeping with the wolves here at our dedicated post on Parc Omega’s wolf accommodations.

Food & Dining

There are a few dining options on site at Parc Omega. This is especially helpful if you plan to spend the night there. One thing to note if you are considering dining off-site is that many nearby restaurants shut down early. So plan for an early dinner out or to eat on-site. There are also kitchens within the accommodations, so cooking for yourself is also an option. But frankly, we think these on-site dining experiences are too good to pass up!

Cocktail with the Wolves: This is an exclusive experience where you can enjoy a variety of appetizers and cocktails while getting a presentation on the wolves from a park guide. This experience doesn’t take place in the main restaurant, but rather at the wolf observatory.

Cookerie: At Pioneer Land on the Parc Omega premises, you can grab a quick snack from their traditional Quebec menu.

OmegaBon: Dining at OmegaBon gives you a truly special experience that few ever get. In the winter, when the bears go into hibernation, a large window at the restaurant allows you to observe them sleeping, which most people never get to see. We love that the park and the restaurant take great care to make this a discreet experience that maintains the animals’ welfare. You can also dine here year-round, not just in the winter, and see the Arctic foxes and cinnamon bears while enjoying a delicious and carefully thought-out meal.

Park House: The Park House offers more casual dining. Here you can purchase coffee, pastries, sandwiches, and other grab-and-go options.

Sugar Shack: Enjoy some maple candy during your Parc Omega visit. The sugar shack is an adorable little shop in the park that’s perfect for indulging in your sweet tooth during the day.

Parc Omega Activities

Parc Omega is more than just its drive-through safari and unique wolf lodges. They offer a ton of activities to help you make the most of your visit and learn more about their animals. These activities are great for all ages, making Parc Omega a perfect family experience.

First Nations Trail

Learn more about Quebec’s history by walking along the First Nations Trail. Each of the eleven First Nations is represented by sculpted totem poles. You’ll also encounter some deer hungry for carrots along the way. There are many covered picnic areas along the route for you to stop and enjoy a meal.

Guided Bus Tour

If you’d prefer more information than the park narration on your car radio, you can opt for a guided bus tour of Parc Omega instead of the traditional self-drive. One massive perk of this is that they offer bus tours before the park opens, making for a really private experience. The naturalist guide is extremely knowledgeable and can answer all your questions about the animals and the park. You won’t miss out on feeding the deer since the tour makes several feeding stops along the way. And there’s an exclusive presentation at the wolf observatory. You’ll also be provided with a pastry and a hot drink or juice.

There’s also the “Guided Omega Experience,” which is a longer and more in-depth tour of the park. This tour lasts about four hours and includes a bus tour, animal presentations, and access to the park for the entire day.

Land of the Pioneers

Visiting the Land of the Pioneers is like stepping back in time. Here you’ll find the Farm of Yesteryear, with adorable farm animals. If you’re visiting Parc Omega with kids, this is such a fun stop for them. They’ll also love the enchanted forest, aerial adventure course, and Lumberjack Camp.

Oniro

Oniro is a magical and immersive nighttime experience where the walking trail is lit up by projections and lights to tell the story of the wolf cub, Oniro. There’s music and voices, and it kind of feels like you’re in a storybook. The Oniro trail takes about 60 minutes to walk, and the first visits begin at sunset. You’ll need a separate ticket for this, which you can purchase here.

Park House

Stop by Park House for a delicious meal, to purchase carrots to feed the deer, rent a golf cart, and shop for some local Quebec products.

After your drive-through safari tour, stop by the wolf observatory to witness a pack of grey wolves. You can experience this daily at 12 pm, 2 pm, and 4 pm.

There are walking trails throughout Parc Omega. You can rent snowshoes, free of charge, from the park. We love that they offer this for free with your admission ticket, so that you can experience nature no matter the season.

Birds of Prey

There are presentations from Thursday to Monday at 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm, where park guides will share their knowledge on the birds. They also talk quite a bit about the conservation efforts they partake in to care for the birds, which we love!

Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides

This is one of our favorite activities at Parc Omega, where you can be taken for a carriage ride through the park. You can experience this every weekend starting February 22, 2026.

Face Painting

Fun for the whole family, you can have your face painted right in the park. This is great for young animal lovers who want a particular animal print to “blend in.”

Tubing

This is our personal favorite activity. Head on over to Pioneer Land to race down their tubing hill. We genuinely can’t believe it’s offered for free with how much fun it is!
